Premium Water Filters by E H Renner & Sons

Are you looking for top-quality water filters? E H Renner & Sons Inc, based in Elk River, MN, has been a trusted name in well drilling services since 1916. We offer an array of water filtration solutions that cater to your specific needs, ensuring clean and safe water for your home or business.

Our filters include:

  • Carbon Filters

These filters are active carbon filters. Installed after the water softener, filtering the whole house of unwanted taste and odor.

They are designed to allow maximum contact between the water and the carbon, ensuring maximum absorption.

Carbon filters are very similar to a Brita water pitcher filter, however, this is filtering the whole home. No more showering in chlorinated water!

These filters take up to 99% of the chlorine out of the water and need to be replaced every 6 months to a year. If it is a sulfur smell (rotten egg) you are trying to filter, see information about sulfur smell and how we can treat it.

  • Sand Filters

This sediment filter is installed before the sprinklers and water softener, to protect everything from plugging. This filter doesn't need to be changed frequently, only flushed. A manual valve on the bottom of the filter allows for easy flushing.

Take a look at the Rusco Spin-down Filter

Occasionally (5-10 years) the filter may need a thorough cleaning or replacement. This is depending on the water conditions. Installing the correct size filter will help ensure that no pressure loss occurs.

If a filter is too small or plugged with sediment, a restriction may occur, which results in a loss of pressure or water flow. For most residential applications, a 1" 100 mesh filter is installed.

The Northstar sediment filter is a little more expensive but is self-cleaning. It is a point of entry filter that can handle up to 35 gpm. It is effective in rinsing the loose particles from the filter's screen, maintenance free. The filter is a heavy-duty stainless steel screen, standard is 60 micron. The clear sump allows viewing, flow and sediment removal.

  • Iron Filters

Some water aquifers only produce water with really high iron contents. This iron content is too high for most water softeners to take out. In these cases an iron filter is strongly suggested.

Effective iron filters are the air injected filters. Iron needs oxygen to oxidize and fall out (precipitate out) into a solid. It is then run through gravel beds and filtered out. Every other day the iron filter regenerates and cleans the beds to ensure no buildup.

This filter doesn't require any chemicals or up keep on your part. It is a maintenance-free unit! The unit does include a smaller air compressor that is mounted close to the iron filter and both units require 115 volts of power to run.

  • Reverse Osmosis

A reverse osmosis (RO) filter is a water purification device that removes impurities by forcing water through a semipermeable membrane.

This process effectively eliminates contaminants such as dissolved salts, bacteria, and heavy metals, leaving you with clean and safe drinking water. Ideal for both home and industrial use, RO systems are highly efficient in producing high-quality, purified water.

  • Chlorination

A chlorination filter is a water treatment device that uses chlorine to disinfect and remove harmful microorganisms like bacteria and viruses. By introducing controlled amounts of chlorine, it ensures water safety and eliminates unpleasant odors or tastes caused by organic contaminants. It's a practical solution for maintaining clean and safe drinking water.
